In our experience, coaching tends to work best for clients who are motivated and ready for change. They feel generally positive about themselves and their lives, and want to build on what is going well to optimize their sense of personal and professional well-being and satisfaction, and to work toward new goals. They are looking for support in making the most of their present lives, and moving forward; they are not specifically looking for help in healing from or getting over the past. Currently, they may feel stuck or at a loss, and describe a sense of emotional pain or psychological distress as a result, but they are not excessively limited in their ability to move forward by feeling especially broken or sick, or being too hesitant to take action-steps in whatever direction they deem desirable. If, in the course of work with a coaching client, we believe that therapy would be helpful or more appropriate, we will refer that client to therapists outside our practice. We often offer individual coaching to people who have been in therapy previously (though not necessarily with us, of course). These clients want to maintain the gains that they made in therapy, and are looking to take their successes to the next level. We do coaching over the telephone or in-person in our office; sessions are 50-minutes in length, and scheduled on a weekly basis, whenever possible.
Complimentary Initial Consultations
We offer free 30-minute initial consultations — over the telephone or in-person — to give you, as a prospective client, the chance to get to know your coach better, for your coach to learn more about you, and to help you and your coach decide how you want to proceed together, if you do. If you would like to schedule a consultation, simply use our secure client portal to do so. Once your request for an initial consultation has been received, your coach will send you two documents via e-mail; a questionnaire and a sample contract. Please print and complete the questionnaire to have ready for your consultation, and review the sample contract so that you can ask any questions about it should you decide to move forward with your coach.
Typically, we charge $440 for four weekly 50-minute sessions per month. We are able to offer reduced fees, so please ask us for more information during your consultation if you want to work with us and require financial consideration.
Payment is expected in advance each month, or in installments and on dates agreed upon by both client and coach. Payments for partial months will be prorated. Payments are to be made to Thought Tonic, LLC, either by check sent to 819 E 64th St, Indianapolis, IN 46220, or by credit card. Please note that there is currently a 2.75% service fee for the in-person use of credit cards, and a $3.50 service fee for remote transactions.
Once sessions are scheduled, we request a minimum of 24-hours notice if you must cancel, and to reschedule; fees for appointments missed without this notice are forfeited by the client.
